My First After Effects Compositing Experiment from jzellis on Vimeo. Shot with my iSight at Starbucks and composited in a few minutes. Not perfect, but a good first try, I think.

Portfolio Is Up
Still needs some work (mostly technical), but it’s there. Lemme know what you think, and if you notice anything silly and obviously wrong with it. Other than the weird loading page and the pixelated sample images, which I can’t seem to fix.
Some badass Flash animation
Here’s the intro for my new Flash portfolio. I’m madly proud of this. (And no, it’s not done, and yes, I know there’s a single pixel-wide line on the right.) It’s a ridiculously labor-intensive piece, created in Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash. I had to hand-trace each of 240 frames of exported animation from […]
Samurai Panda
Something I was working on for my portfolio. Drawn on paper with pencil, scanned and colored in Photoshop.
Picture From First Friday
Here’s a picture of me, taken by the lovely Republic of Seana at First Friday. You can sorta see my projected art in the background. And yes, that’s a cross around my neck. And no, I haven’t turned Christian. It’s my good luck cross.
Giger Marble.
New Processing piece: Giger Marble. It’s based off of, well, a bunch of Jared Tarbell‘s code and ideas, so no real credit to me here, other than figuring out how to do everything but the color scheme without looking at his code at all. Pretty, though. It takes its color palette from H.R. Giger’s Brain […]
Thanks, everybody!
Thank you so much to everybody who stopped by my little projection show at First Friday last night! It meant a lot to me that y’all showed up. I was pretty happy with how it turned out — despite the fact that I had klieg lights pointed at my screen, which made it kinda hard […]
Reminder: Art Show Tonight @ First Friday
Just a reminder: I’ll be showing video projections and selling prints of some of my generative art at First Friday tonight, starting around 5pm, at the outdoor festival grounds between Casino Center and Colorado. Come down, check it out, buy some prints, have some beer, have some fun.
All These Worlds Are Yours I
All These Worlds Are Yours I is another generative Flash piece. Very simple, but I like it — it produces extremely iconic images. And yes, before anyone says it, I was definitely thinking of that sequence in 2001: A Space Odyssey, even though the title is taken from 2010: The Year We Make Contact.
Mistaken For Strangers
Mistaken For Strangers[2] Image detail. This series of 16 prints utilizes Perlin noise (similar to my flow field animations) to set the size, color, transparency and rotation of almost 40,000 rounded rectangles. (The title has no relation to the process — it’s just a song by The National that I’m really digging on these days.) […]
