AMAZING. Sounds like any kind of glitch/IDM stuff you’d hear right now.
Feist on Sesame Street
This makes Mr. Grumpy Dude happy. Shut up.
Cassandra Wilson – Harvest Moon
Cassandra Wilson doing my second favorite Neil Young song (after “Needle And The Damage Done”). Incredibly beautiful and simple. This is from the soundtrack to the Wong Kar-Wei film My Blueberry Nights.
Technical Question: TPS to MySQL
I need to import an assload of data from old TopSpeed (TPS) database tables into MySQL. I don’t have access to the original app, just the database tables. I’m on a Mac, but can use Unix tools and Windows as last resort.
Anybody know an easy way to do this? It’s time-dependent.
Watchmen trailer — oh my my, oh hell yes

Yes, Joss Whedon, I have bought your Internet TV thingy.
I now have $1.04 in my iTunes account, thanks to Joss Whedon. I hope your hard work is worth $3.99 of my hard-earned (by living for 30 years so my parents would give me an iTunes gift card for my birthday) money, Mr. Whedon.
(I’m kidding. It’s totally worth $3.99, even if it’s only a tenth as good as Firefly.)
You know what's awesome?
You know what’s awesome?
Finding the right key to play David Bowie’s “Heroes” in…and then standing in your living room with an unplugged electric guitar at eight in the morning, pretending you’re playing the Reading Festival or Lollapalooza or something like that, shrieking “And we can be HEROOOOOES if just for one day!” at full volume as you pound away at the half-tuned strings. Because it’s Saturday morning, and there’s no one else around, and it’s totally awesome.
Fuck yeah.
He just keeps saying he's "the Firestarter"
New Venture Bros. is up on Adult Swim for your (lo-res) viewing pleasure. Brilliant.
Bonus quiz: how many of the 80s video icons in the steam tunnels can you name? I got Michael Jackson in “Thriller” of course, the dude from Alphaville’s “Forever Young”, and of course the Art of Noise (with the little girl dressed like a hooker). I think the general is from the “99 Luftballoons” video, but I can’t be sure. And I think I saw Simon LeBon.
