I’ve started a new feature over at the Daily Mojo: All Time Top Fives. Which is exactly what you think it would be. My first installment? Songs about the end of the world. Go check it out.

Okay…I just went to my kitchen cupboard, where I keep my collection of tapes, 100’s of them and pulled out the “Pump Up the Volume” soundtrack with “Wave of Mutilation” (U.K. Surf Mix) to listen to in a few minutes after I finish listening to my “Pinback” cd.
Your number one and number 2 are the same as mine…
Although I would also have “Eve of Destruction” in there somewhere.
FOUR MINUTES by Roger Waters
I can’t even think of any other ones really…
So that would be my top 4
Eve of Destruction Four Minutes It’s the end of the world as we know it When the man comes around
I would add 99 Red Balloons (99 Luftballons) by Nena…
It’s all over and I’m standing pretty In this dust that was a city If I could find a souvenir Just to prove the world was here And here is a red balloon I think of you, and let it go
How about entire soundtracks? Doesn’t get much better than Wender’s Until the End of the World.
